Belgrade Philharmonic with the 90-year-long tradition and its 98 musicians of the average age of 35, has made a remarkable success and established itself as the leading national orchestra over the last decade. According to the writings of the international media, the Philharmonic is one of the leading European orchestras (The Independent), Serbia’s cult orchestra (The Financial Times), the most successful cultural institution in Serbia, (The Morning Paper, Zagreb) and the most powerful PR weapon of Serbia (Kvällsposten, Malmö).
Altough Belgrade Philharmonic is one of the best European orchestras with some of the best European musicians and long-term tradition, one thing is also very interesting about it: it`s not stuck somwhere in time (past), it`s not boring, monotonous, not too serious. Quite the opposite-Belgrade Philharmonic is using social networks to communicate with people, they know how to introduce their work, the music that`s not so popular to a wide range of people.
And this is the key thing. Nothing in the world, especially nothing about the people is one way street. Communication is the most important thing because it`s the only way to get to know about someone or something. Belgrade Philharmonic knows it very well. They communicate with their audience. They communicate with everyone who wants to communicate. This is the reason why Belgrade Philharmonic is getting more and more popular in the Balkans, at the time of material and cultural degradation of society.
I saw recently some plays of Belgrade Philharmonic on You Tube and I was stunned. Literally, these people can play everything. And they do it in a genious way. As a fan of rock music I was totally impressed with their covers of the Beatles and Queen. After all, you must look at it by yourself:
Yes, they rocks. Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra without any doubt can play together with any great rock band in the world. Deep Purple did it together with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 1969 and it was great. Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra can do the same thing.
Afterall, they are the champions.
