Many visitors say that Tara is the most beautiful and exciting river in Europe. This river is 145 kilometers long and has created a canyon nearly a hundred kilometers long and 1.3 kilometers deep. Tara River Canyon is the second in the world in depth, right behind Colorado’s Grand Canyon, but it is for sure the first in its beauty. Because the crystal clear and pure water you can drink it the whole way also Tara River is extremely rich in plant and animal species. Many of them are endemic. Tara is on the list of protected areas of UNESCO.
