Serbia’s First Deputy PM and Defense Minister Aleksandar Vučić met today in the United Arab Emirates` capital Abu Dhabi with Crown Prince and Head of State Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They signed several bilateral agreements between Serbia and the UAE. These agreements show high level of both political and economical partnership between two countries.
After the meeting Vučić said that Serbia would produce highly sophisticated missiles for the United Arab Emirates. It was agreed that the UAE’s company Emirates Advanced Research and Technology Holding (EARTH) and Serbia’s Yugoimport SDPR would sign a contract on mutual development and supply of ALAS missile systems at a defense trade show. According Vučić the first investments for sophisticated missiles are to be made in several weeks.
“We are also planning to continue the negotiations about the new technologies and investments in big factory which would be producing sophisticated computer chips. This would be the largest investment in Serbia in the last 35 years and maybe this is the saving solution for Serbia” said Vučić.
Vučić and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan agreed that UAE would continue investments in Serbian agriculture and military industry. These agreements represent the extension of bilateral agreements between two countries which have been made last month in Belgrade.
Among the other bilateral agreements Serbia and UAE today signed common statement of building strategic partnership between two countries.
